Does anybody know how to call someone who has Charter home phone service, and instead of the phone ringing on their end, it goes straight to voicemail?

The person you are calling has voicemail…they can set their rings for whatever they want…you have no way to hack around this.

Comcast or at&t?

The only cable company offered in my area is Comcast. So my choices are at&t or Comcast.

I just switched everything over to AT&T - the greatest things about AT&T is that the price they give you will never go up! I had there phone service for 4 years and it never changed. All the other ones lure you in with a great price then jack it up . . . and whatever you do avoid VONAGE at all costs!!

I have Tivo so have to use regular phone service and not digital through the cable company.

I would go with Qwest. And if you're looking for the most basic service, it will be about $23 a month.

Cox like the person below mentioned is also cheap…BUT it doesn't service all of Arizona….so you'd have to call them first to see if they service in your neighborhood…it doesn't in mine and I live in Tempe.

My cell phone went dead this morning and my mother happened to call me and left a voicemail letting me know that the number on my caller id is her new phone number. Problem here is that since my phone was dead, I did not recieve the caller ID and I have no other way of getting a hold of her. She live 90 miles from me and I know that she has Comcast for her home phone service. Anyone know how to look someone up in this situation since the yellow pages are useless for Comcast.

It is only useless if she’s paid to have her number unlisted. I have Comcast phone and my number is listed.

I have digital phone service and would like to hook up a fax. Is that possible with digital phone line or would you need a standard line?

Yes, but fax machines are still out-dated and unnecessarily expensive.
